About the Job:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented AV/Security Installation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will install and configure audiovisual systems, including audio systems, video displays, control systems and network infrastructure. In this position, you will play a vital role in bringing our clients’ vision to life. This role will service clients across the London and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities:
- Install and integrate audiovisual equipment and systems according to technical specifications and project requirements.
- Conduct site surveys to assess installation needs and identify potential challenges.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and clients to ensure seamless execution of installations.
- Program and configure control systems for AV systems, ensuring functionality and user-friendliness.
- Test and troubleshoot installed systems to ensure optimal performance and client satisfaction.
- Provide training and support to clients on using installed AV systems effectively.
- Complete documentation and reports for each installation project, including equipment lists and configuration details.

Essential Skills:
- Experience working with commercial AV systems,
including conferencing and digital signage.
- Familiarity with networking principles and protocols, including IP-based AV systems.
- Basic cable pulling techniques.
- Able to pull HDMI and VGA cables in walls.
- Cat 5E and Cat6 termination techniques,
- Able to hang TV Brackets and TVs
- Crimp and terminate BNC connectors.
- Able to clean up cabling and dress up Conference room tables, all kinds of cable management.
- Color code recognition.
- EIA/TIA standards
- Termination techniques, including Fluke Testing
- Understanding of all Category 5E, 6 UTP & STP standards
- Able to install speakers on walls, install projectors and align the same.
- Understanding of all Category 6, 6A UTP & STP standards
Qualifications:
- Certification in audiovisual technology, electrical engineering or related field
- Valid Driver’s License Record required.
- Criminal Record Check Required
- Ability to distinguish between colours.
- WHMIS Certificate would be an asset.
- Working at Heights Certificate would be an asset.
- Manlift Operator Certificate would be an asset.
- Occupational Health and Safety Act Safety 4 Steps Worker Health & Safety Awareness Certificate
