Hospice Residence Housekeeper – Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth

Hours: 18hrs per week (includes every other Saturday)

Compensation: Starting $20.25

Start date: October 12, 2026.

Part time permanent.

Position Summary The Hospice Residence Housekeeper supports the provision of a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, families, staff, and visitors within Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth. Working as part of the interdisciplinary team, this role contributes to the overall quality of care by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention, and respect for the hospice philosophy of care. This position reports to the Maintenance & Facilities Manager.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of resident rooms, washrooms, common areas, and administrative spaces
- Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces in accordance with infection prevention and control (IPAC) standards
- Support laundry services, including washing, drying, folding, and distribution of linens and towels
- Ensure cleaning supplies are stored safely in accordance with workplace health and safety standards
- Safely handle and dispose of waste, including biohazardous waste where applicable, following established protocols
- Report maintenance, safety concerns, or supply shortages through the use of maintenance software, or to your manager.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate respect for residents, families, volunteers, and staff at all times
- Support a welcoming and compassionate environment aligned with hospice values
- Document daily/weekly task completion.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in housekeeping/cleaning role
- Interest in healthcare, hospitality, or environmental services
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team




- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to policies and procedures
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and professionalism

Working Conditions

- Work is performed within a hospice residence workplace supporting individuals receiving end-of-life care
- Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, lifting ability of 40-50lbs maximum, pushing carts and repetitive tasks
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and potential biohazards (with appropriate training and PPE provided)
- Interaction with residents and families during sensitive and emotional times
