Accounting Assistant — Financial Operations Support

You're exactly who we need. An Accounting Assistant at Applewood means supporting a team that keeps our financial operations smooth, accurate, and reliable across 13+ dealership locations. You'll work with people who genuinely care about doing things right—and who value the professionalism it takes to get there. This is an in-office position located at our Langley, BC Head Office.

The Opportunity

You'll be the backbone supporting our accounting team. Processing transactions, reconciling accounts, maintaining records that matter. Every month-end close, every audit, every payment resolved—you'll have your fingerprints on it. This role offers a real chance to learn the accounting operations of a growing automotive group while developing skills that last.

What You'll Own

Process AP/AR Tasks — Handle invoices, payments, and receipts with accuracy and organization.

Maintain Accounting Records — Keep detailed, accurate, and up-to-date financial records that others rely on.

Support Month-End & Year-End — Assist in closing activities, knowing your accuracy enables the team to close on time.

Reconcile Discrepancies — Work with vendors and internal departments to resolve billing or payment issues quickly.

Support Audits — Ensure transactions comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Additional Accounting Duties — Take on diverse responsibilities as needed, showing flexibility and commitment.

Accuracy in Processing — Invoices, payments, and records processed correctly, first time.

Reconciliation Timeliness — Month-end and year-end tasks completed on schedule.

Communication & Problem-Solving — Resolve discrepancies by working effectively with vendors and internal teams.

Record Accuracy — Maintain detailed, accurate accounting records that support audits and reporting.

Reliability — Show up, follow through, and deliver. The team counts on you.

Compensation

Compensation Range: $40,000 to $55,000 annually, based on your experience and qualifications, minus statutory deductions, and paid hourly.

We also offer RRSP options because we care about your future with us.

The Person We're Looking For

Required Experience:

1–2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role (AP/AR experience preferred).

Strong Advantages:

Automotive dealership accounting experience — a strong asset but not required. We can train dealership-specific processes if you have solid accounting fundamentals.

Essential Skills & Qualities:

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word — you use these tools daily

Meticulous attention to detail — accuracy matters in every transaction

Strong organizational skills — you manage multiple priorities and deadlines





Reliable and punctual — you show up and follow through

Excellent communication skills — spoken and written English

Courteous and team-oriented — you work well with colleagues and external partners

Comfortable with deadlines — month-end and year-end can get busy, and you thrive under those conditions
