Whiteshell Daycare Co-op, located in the boreal forest of the Whiteshell Provincial Park about 160km/1.5 hour drive from Winnipeg, has a projected opening date of January 2027 and is currently recruiting educators - ECE III/ECE II/CCA. The program is starting as a small 16-20 space preschool centre with plans for growth. As the first childcare program serving families in the community, we are looking forward to creating a welcoming, community-focused space where children can learn, explore, and grow through meaningful outdoor and play-based experiences.

The centre will care for children 2 to 6 years of age and will emphasize outdoor and land based learning, creativity, exploration, and child-led experiences. With nature at our doorstep, educators will have the prospect to incorporate the outdoors into daily learning and play.

Co-op values strong community connections and is committed to creating a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming environment for children, families, and staff. While the childcare centre is hosted within West Hawk United Church, the centre itself is non-denominational and welcomes families of all backgrounds. The child care program will serve communities from west of Falcon Lake to Hadashville and the South Whiteshell areas.

The Manitoba Child Care Association acknowledges that we are located on Treaty 1 Territory and on the lands of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Anisininew, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and the Red River Métis Homeland.
