Position Overview The Area Manager of Operations is the regional business and performance leader for Academy of Learning Career College campuses within an assigned territory.

Working closely with franchise partners and campus teams, the Area Manager will lead admissions, strengthen campus profitability, improve student success, support regulatory compliance, and make each campus a centre of excellence.

This highly visible, field-based leadership role requires a balance of commercial discipline, operational leadership, and a genuine commitment to the student experience. Through campus visits, performance analysis, training, coaching, and consistent follow-through, the Area Manager will help translate organizational priorities into strong and sustainable campus results.

Core Areas of Accountability

Admissions Performance

Strengthen admissions practices to improve lead management, conversion, enrolment quality, revenue, and the overall prospective-student experience.

Student Success

Improve student orientation, engagement, attendance, persistence, completion, graduate outcomes, and overall satisfaction.

Financial Performance

Support franchise partners in improving revenue, managing costs, developing budgets, strengthening business plans, and increasing campus profitability.

Compliance and Quality

Ensure campuses consistently meet regulatory, financial-aid, academic, operational, documentation, and brand requirements.

Operational Excellence

Build capable campus teams, standardized processes, clear accountabilities, and disciplined operating practices that position campuses as centres of excellence.

Key Responsibilities

- Serve as the primary operational partner to franchise owners and campus leaders within the assigned region.
- Build trusted relationships with franchise partners while maintaining clear performance expectations and accountability.
- Conduct regular campus visits, performance reviews, coaching sessions, and follow-up action planning.
- Monitor and analyze admissions performance, including lead activity, speed to contact, appointments, conversion, enrolments, funding mix, and enrolment quality.
- Work closely with campus leaders and admissions teams to ensure admissions standards and best practices are consistently followed.
- Coach admissions teams on consultative selling, lead management, student-centred decision-making, referral generation, financial-aid options, bursaries, credit for prior learning, and proper use of the lead-management system.
- Support campuses in strengthening student orientation, attendance, engagement,



academic progress, retention, completion, graduate services, and student satisfaction.
- Establish campus-level student-success plans and ensure students at risk are identified, supported, and appropriately escalated.
- Review campus financial statements, budgets, revenue streams, expenses, and profitability drivers with franchise partners.
- Use financial and operational tools to demonstrate how changes in enrolment, retention, pricing, staffing, and expenses can improve campus profitability.
- Support franchise partners in developing clear business plans, performance targets, corrective actions, and operating priorities.
- Ensure consistent implementation of organizational policies, procedures, systems, service expectations, and operating standards.
- Support compliance with provincial regulatory requirements, student financial-assistance obligations, academic policies, attendance standards, participation requirements, and documentation-retention expectations.
- Identify operational, financial, compliance, reputational, or student-experience risks and ensure corrective actions are documented and completed.
- Provide training and coaching to franchise owners, campus managers, admissions representatives, learning coaches, and administrative employees.
- Facilitate regional workshops, meetings, conferences, and professional-development activities.
- Promote participation in organizational training and ensure campus teams effectively use the tools and resources available to them.
- Lead regional knowledge-sharing so successful practices are identified, documented, and implemented across the network.
- Oversee or support campus quality-assurance activities, including operational reviews, mystery shops, brand assessments, and reviews of the prospective-student and current-student experience.
- Review campus websites, social-media channels, physical environments, and other public-facing materials to support brand consistency and professionalism.
- Act as a regional liaison between campuses and the franchisor, ensuring questions, concerns, and operational needs are communicated and addressed.
- Support regional relationships with government representatives, community organizations, vendors, funders, and other external partners where appropriate.
- Collaborate with the Managing Director and the Sales, Education, Marketing, Finance, and Compliance teams to resolve barriers and improve campus performance.
- Provide the Managing Director with regular reporting on regional results, campus strengths, performance gaps, emerging risks, and recommended actions.
- Represent the franchisor with professionalism, credibility, consistency, and respect in every interaction.
- Perform other related duties consistent with the scope and seniority of the role.

- Sustainable improvement in admissions conversion, enrolments, revenue, and campus profitability.
- Improved student orientation, engagement, attendance, persistence, completion, satisfaction, and graduate outcomes.
- Consistent compliance with regulatory, academic, financial-aid, documentation, operational, and brand requirements.




- Timely completion of campus action plans and measurable improvement in identified performance gaps.
- Stronger leadership capability and accountability among franchise owners, campus managers, admissions teams, and student-support employees.
- Increased consistency in policies, procedures, service standards, and operating practices across the region.
- A growing number of campuses demonstrating the practices, student outcomes, and business results expected of a centre of excellence.

Qualifications and Skills

- Five or more years of progressive leadership experience in multi-site operations, admissions, sales, student services, franchise support, private career education, or a comparable performance-driven environment.
- Demonstrated success improving business performance while maintaining a robust student, customer, or client-success focus.
- Working knowledge of profit-and-loss statements, budgeting, revenue drivers, cost management, forecasting, and business planning.
- Strong understanding of structured admissions or sales processes, CRM and lead management, performance reporting, and continuous improvement.
- Experience coaching leaders and frontline teams and delivering effective in-person and virtual training.
- Ability to interpret policies and regulatory requirements and translate them into practical, consistent campus processes.
- Strong judgment, organization, follow-through, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to address performance gaps directly, professionally, and constructively.
- Excellent relationship-building, communication, facilitation, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Post-secondary education in Business, Education, Operations, Sales, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and the ability to learn CRM, learning-management, and operational systems.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned region, with occasional national travel as required.

Leadership Profile The ideal candidate is commercially minded, student-centred, highly accountable, and comfortable moving between strategy and hands-on execution. They can challenge constructively, coach with credibility, use data to focus action, and inspire campus teams to achieve stronger business results and better outcomes for students.

- Job Type: Full-Time Permanent
- Salary Range: Starting from $95,000 plus bonus. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience
- Schedule: Monday to Friday.
- Work Location: Remote
