Assistant Production Manager at Nikkei Ramen-ya

Nikkei Ramen-ya is a family-owned ramen restaurant in Courtenay. Since 2016, we’ve made everything from scratch, including our noodles. Our production kitchen supplies both the restaurant and our frozen ramen business, now available in more than 100 grocery stores across BC.

We’re looking for an Assistant Production Manager to work alongside our kitchen team and help keep daily production running smoothly. This is a hands-on role: you’ll be preparing and cooking food, contributing to the day’s production, and supporting our Head Chef and Restaurant Production Manager.

You’ll follow recipes and production procedures, work consistently and efficiently, and help maintain a clean, organized kitchen. Food quality and food safety are central to the job. Our kitchen is federally licensed and operates under a HACCP food safety plan.

We’re looking for someone who communicates clearly,



supports their teammates, and follows through. You should be comfortable taking direction, learning our processes, and taking pride in doing the work well.

You’ll need at least 2 years of cooking experience in a professional kitchen and a FOODSAFE Level 1 certificate. Experience working under a HACCP plan would be an asset.

Pay is $25.35–$30.00 an hour, depending on experience. The regular schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, with some weekend work. The schedule may change as the business grows.
