Server/Bartender – Hey Lucy Cafe

Hey Lucy Cafe is looking for an energetic, experienced, and personable Server/Bartender to join our Front of House team!

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced restaurant environment, loves creating great guest experiences, and has a strong understanding of both food and beverage service. Our ideal candidate is confident behind the bar and on the floor, with excellent cocktail knowledge and a solid understanding of proper steps of service.

Responsibilities

- Provide friendly, attentive, and professional service to all guests
- Follow proper steps of service from greeting through payment and farewell
- Confidently take food and beverage orders and make knowledgeable recommendations
- Maintain strong knowledge of our food, cocktail, wine, beer, and beverage menus
- Prepare and serve cocktails consistently and efficiently according to recipes and standards
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, ingredients, and flavour profiles
- Recommend cocktails, wine, beer, and other beverages that complement guests' food selections
- Accurately enter orders and process payments using the POS system
- Monitor tables throughout service and anticipate guest needs
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen, bar, hosts, and management
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked server and bar stations
- Complete opening, closing, and side duties as assigned
- Follow responsible alcohol service and all applicable liquor-service requirements




- Work as part of a team to provide smooth and efficient service during high-volume periods

What We're Looking For Previous serving and/or bartending experience in a full-service restaurant is required.

The ideal candidate

- Has excellent knowledge of cocktails, spirits, and food and beverage pairings
- Has a strong understanding of proper restaurant steps of service
- Is comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced workplace
- Is outgoing, upbeat, and genuinely enjoys interacting with guests
- Is confident making recommendations and upselling when appropriate
- Is organized and able to manage multiple tables and priorities at once
- Works well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude
- Is reliable, punctual, and professional
- Is a strong communicator and team player
- Holds valid Smart Serve certification as required for alcohol service in Ontario

Availability Candidates must be available to work weekends and holidays, with flexibility for evening and late-night shifts. Availability during our busiest service periods is essential.
