We are seeking a Café Manager / Prep Cook Support who can lead the guest-facing side of the café while working closely with the Prep Cook on the overall operation. The role requires genuine hospitality management experience plus enough practical kitchen ability to execute the café's established, streamlined menu when the Prep Cook is off.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead front-of-house service and ensure a warm, efficient and consistent guest experience.
- Work closely with the Prep Cook on daily priorities, staffing and service flow.
- Supervise, train and support café staff and help maintain clear service standards.
- Manage opening and closing procedures, POS operation, cash handling and daily reconciliations.
- Assist with staff scheduling, task allocation and day-to-day operational administration.
- Monitor front-of-house stock, packaging, beverages and café supplies and coordinate ordering with the

Prep Cook

- Maintain cleanliness, presentation and organization throughout customer-facing areas.
- Be fully trained on the café's core food menu, recipes, prep procedures and service standards.
- Provide kitchen and operational coverage during the Head Chef's scheduled days off or absence, including preparation and execution of the established menu.




- Assist with food preparation and dog-friendly cookies/treats according to approved recipes when required.
- Handle guest concerns professionally and help cultivate repeat business and a strong neighbourhood atmosphere.
- Support promotions, community initiatives and dog-friendly café activities where appropriate.

Experience & Attributes

- Previous café, restaurant or hospitality supervisory/management experience.
- Strong front-of-house leadership and customer-service skills.
- Practical cooking/kitchen experience sufficient to independently execute a concise café menu.
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling, scheduling, inventory and opening/closing procedures.
- Strong organization, reliability and problem-solving skills.
- Food-safety knowledge/certification appropriate to the operation.
- Comfortable moving between front- and back-of-house responsibilities.
- Comfortable working around dogs and contributing to a genuinely dog-friendly environment.

Pay: $24.00-$27.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
