- Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Prepare tenders and quotations
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
- Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
- Survey building locations and levels
- Instruct apprentices
- Supervise other workers
- Co-ordinate trades
- Fit and install siding, soffit, fascia, roofing, decking, railings and all other exterior finishes
- Fit and install cabinets, countertops and appliances
- Prep and spray finish interior woodwork
- Prep and stain exterior woodwork
- Setup and maintain work from home camp
- Ensure safe work operations in remote settings
- Drive to remote work sites delivering tools,

Requirements:

- Education: Some secondary school is required.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of carpentry experience, including supervisory experience is required. If the candidate does not have at least 5 years of experience, then completion of a three to four year apprenticeship and some college or industry courses in carpentry is required.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s license is required.
- Carpenter Red Seal Certificate is required or International equivalent is required.
- Ability to supervise at least 4 workers.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Handling heavy loads, large workload, physically demanding, tight deadlines, work with minimal supervision.

Language: English is required

Salary: 42 CAD hourly. 40 to 45 hours per week.

Important Information: Work schedule is 21 days on and 10 days off. During the 21 days on we take a half day off in the middle of the shift. Regular schedule is from 6:30am to 6pm. Daily work hours may vary depending on the business needs.
