KBarnes Construction Inc. is looking to add an experienced Carpenter / Commercial Renovation Worker to our growing team.

We have steady year-round work with a strong focus on commercial renovations, interior fit-ups, steel stud framing, general carpentry and finishing work, along with select residential renovation projects.

We’re looking for someone who can work efficiently as part of a crew, handle tasks independently when required, and takes pride in producing clean, professional work.

Primary Scope of Work This position will focus heavily on commercial interior construction, steel stud work and carpentry, including:
- Steel stud framing and commercial wall systems
- Wood framing and general carpentry
- Commercial renovations and interior fit-outs
- Suspended ceilings and T-bar systems
- Installation of doors, frames and hardware
- Finish carpentry, baseboard and casing
- Millwork and miscellaneous carpentry installations
- Drywall boarding, backing, patching and repairs
- Bulkheads, partitions and wall modifications
- Demolition and preparation for new construction
- Exterior and miscellaneous renovation work as required
- Reading measurements, layouts and basic construction drawings
- Maintaining clean, organized and professional job sites

Experience We’re Looking For Ideal candidates will have experience in several of the following areas:




- Commercial steel stud framing
- Commercial renovations and tenant improvements
- General carpentry and wood framing
- Doors, frames and hardware
- Finish carpentry
- Drywall and interior wall systems
- T-bar and suspended ceilings
- General construction and renovation work

You do not need to be a Journeyperson Carpenter, but we are looking for someone with solid construction experience who can arrive on a commercial project, understand what needs to be done and be productive without requiring constant supervision.

Requirements

- Previous construction, carpentry or renovation experience
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation to our Stony Mountain shop
- Ability to work independently and as part of a crew
- Comfortable using common construction tools and equipment
- Comfortable working from ladders, lifts and at heights when required
- Ability to accurately measure, lay out and complete work
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Professional attitude when working on commercial and occupied job sites
- Attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to keep up in a fast-paced construction environment

Location Our crew is based out of Stony Mountain, Manitoba.

Employees report to the shop, with company vehicles used for daily transportation to and from job sites throughout Winnipeg and surrounding areas.
