Catering Logistics Assistant

Savoury City Catering & Events is looking for a highly organized, dependable Logistics Assistant to support our delivery drivers and event operations team.

This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys keeping things organized, solving problems, and making sure the right equipment and paperwork get to the right place at the right time. You will help prepare drivers for their routes, track service equipment and returns, and support the many daily tasks required to keep a busy catering operation running smoothly.

Pay: $22.00 per hour

Job types: Full-time or part-time, permanent

Responsibilities

- Prepare driver paperwork, delivery schedules, order sheets, pack lists, and return instructions
- Review orders to ensure drivers have the correct information before leaving
- Support the staging, checking, and loading of catering orders
- Organize delivery bags, hot boxes, coolers, beverage equipment, serviceware, and event supplies
- Track catering equipment leaving and returning to our facility
- Check returned equipment against order sheets and identify missing or damaged items
- Unpack, sort, clean, and return equipment to its proper storage location
- Follow up with drivers regarding outstanding equipment, paperwork, or client returns
- Keep the loading, staging, storage, and equipment-return areas clean and organized
- Restock delivery supplies, disposables, service equipment, and event kits
- Help coordinate last-minute order changes and delivery requirements
- Communicate clearly with drivers, kitchen staff, event staff, and office team members
- Assist with inventory counts and report items that need to be replaced or reordered
- Complete general logistics and operational support tasks as required

Required Qualifications
- Exceptionally organized with strong attention to detail




- Able to manage several orders, deadlines, and priorities at the same time
- Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Able to read and accurately follow order sheets, pack lists, and written instructions
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Able to safely lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable standing, walking, bending, lifting, and moving equipment throughout a shift
- Basic computer and administrative skills
- Fluent in English
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Flexible availability, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays when required

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous catering, hospitality, warehouse, logistics, dispatch, or event experience
- Experience coordinating delivery paperwork, equipment, or inventory
- Knowledge of food-service equipment and catering supplies
- Valid driver’s licence and clean driving record are considered an asset
