Civil Engineer IV – Nuclear Construction

Location: Ontario, Canada – 100% Remote

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Duration: 12 Months

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with strong expertise in reinforced concrete, concrete construction, and nuclear projects. The engineer will support complex, safety-related nuclear structures by providing technical engineering, design review, construction support, and quality/compliance oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, review, and approve concrete mix designs, batch plant submissions, and construction submittals.

Prepare and review concrete material, installation, and construction specifications in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.

Perform engineering analysis and provide technical guidance for reinforced concrete and nuclear structures.

Prepare and review Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), concrete construction plans, pour plans, thermal control plans, and related technical documentation.

Support concrete construction activities, including pre-placement and post-placement reviews, quality meetings, and resolution of field issues.

Review and respond to RFIs, technical queries, design changes, non-conformance reports, and other engineering documentation.

Coordinate with owners, constructors, subcontractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve technical and construction issues.





Prepare and maintain engineering analysis reports, design basis documents, and technical evaluations related to concrete design and construction changes.

Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable nuclear quality, safety, regulatory, and project requirements.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

Robust experience with reinforced concrete and concrete construction.

Experience working in the nuclear industry or nuclear construction environment.

Knowledge of ACI 318, ACI 349, and ASTM standards.

Experience with concrete mix design, testing, production, placement, and quality control.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Canadian CSA A23.1, CSA A23.2, CSA N291, and CSA N287 standards.

Experience with high-density or radiation-shielding concrete.

Knowledge of ASME Section III and Section XI.

Experience with containment liner design/evaluation, FMEA, containment pressure testing, or aging management.

Knowledge of concrete NDT and repair techniques.

Experience supporting safety-related or first-of-a-kind nuclear structures.
