Compass is a non-profit organization based in Sudbury Ontario that provides mental health and developmental services for children, youth, and families. Most programs serve individuals up to age 18, with select services available to older youth and young adults. Supports range from short-term counselling to ongoing therapy, psychological assessment, and diagnostic services.
Compass is also the lead agency responsible for providing live-in treatment services for youth who need temporary residential support during significant life transitions.

In partnership with Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Compass also provides Family Navigation Services for youth ages 11 to 29 experiencing mental health or substance-use concerns and for their families. The Clinical Child and Youth Worker Supervisor reports to the Director of Clinical Services. In this role, the Supervisor is responsible for providing clinical supervision to designated staff.
RESPONSABILITIES:
Service Management o Provide direct clinical supervision to assigned staff (e.g., CYW, Peer Support Workers, and any other designated team members)
o Build staff capacity and improve client outcomes through evidence-based models o Ensure staff service delivery meets Ministry, Accreditation, and professional standards o Monitor and ensure all clinical records of supervised staff are complete, accurate, current, and meet agency documentation standards o Identify and support staff professional development opportunities o Collaborate with Manager to complete staff performance appraisals.
o Support implementation of new programming.
o Provide training to Compass staff, and engage in training opportunities as identified by the Director of Clinical Services.
o Will be required to be on-call after hours/weekends on a rotational basis with the clinical leadership team.
Administrative Management o Support the Managers in recruitment and onboarding o Ensure staff understand and adhere to established policies and guidelines o Coach, mentor, and teach front-line staff to build capacity in core competencies o Assess, evaluate, and measure performance of assigned staff o Conduct file audits as per agency policy o Support and/or chair inter-disciplinary and regular team meetings o Review relevant client assessments, clinical intervention plans and behavioural plans o Document clinical supervision notes as per agency policy o Participate in strategic planning and other agency planning activities o Knowledge and practice of the Agency’s Collective Agreement, and Policies and Procedures.
o Represent the agency in the community to facilitate collaborative relationships.
o Contribute to community education through presentations to professionals and community groups as assigned.
o Perform other related duties as assigned
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Proficiency in a computerized environment, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), Asana and clinical information systems
- Strong clinical decision-making: assess risk, prioritize competing demands, and problem-solve in real time
- Effective coaching and feedback skills. Ability to deliver constructive performance feedback clearly and professionally
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; bilingual (English/French) preferred
- Ability to collaborate with external partners (school boards, health and social service agencies, community organizations)
- Ability to work independently with sound judgment
- Demonstrated leadership:
set expectations, model qualified conduct, and drive team performance
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Child and youth mental health systems, child welfare, and related health/social services
- Clinical assessment, intervention planning, and group programming
- Cultural competency: understanding of issues facing diverse populations including Indigenous, Francophone, Immigrant/Refugee, and LGBT2SQ communities
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor's degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the provision of clinical services to children and their families
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Registration or membership with a relevant professional regulatory body or association is an asset.

- A valid Ontario driver’s license and use of a reliable motor vehicle; insurability on vehicle as per policy
- Completed Police Vulnerable Sector Check
