About the Role

BestBrains Learning Vaughan (Keele & Rutherford) is hiring a part-time Coding Teacher to lead small-group classes in Python, Web Development, and Scratch for students in grades 1 through 9. You'll deliver our leveled coding curriculum, adapting each lesson so a first-time Scratch coder and a teen building web pages both stay challenged and engaged.

About BestBrains Learning Vaughan

We're a newly opened tutoring centre at 9222 Keele Street, Unit 12, near Keele & Rutherford in Vaughan, offering English, Math, French, Coding, and Abacus programs. We focus on small class sizes and personalized, level-based instruction for K-9 students in the community.

Key Responsibilities

- Teach Python, Web Development, and Scratch classes to students in grades 1-9, following BestBrains' leveled coding curriculum (3 subjects, each with 3 levels)
- Adapt instruction for a mix of ages and skill levels within the same 60-minute class (up to 8 students)
- Track student progress and communicate updates to parents
- Maintain a positive, encouraging classroom environment
- Set up and troubleshoot classroom computers and coding platforms as needed
- Support centre events such as open houses

Qualifications





Required

- Working knowledge of Python and web development fundamentals (HTML/CSS/JavaScript)
- Familiarity with Scratch or other block-based coding platforms
- Experience teaching or tutoring children/youth in grades 1-9
- Strong communication skills with both kids and parents
- Reliable availability during scheduled class times

Preferred

- Background in Computer Science, Education, or a related field
- Prior experience in a tutoring centre or after-school program
- Willingness to complete a vulnerable sector/background check

Schedule & Compensation

Part-time position. Classes run

Tuesday & Thursday, 4:30-7:45 PM, and

Saturday, 9:30 AM-1:45 PM.

Coding classes are 60 minutes long, with up to 8 students per class. Pay is competitive and based on experience.
