High-Definition Concrete (HD Concrete) is looking for an experienced Concrete Placing Foreman to join our services Division.

This is a hands-on field leadership position responsible for running a crew of concrete placers and finishers on primarily civil construction projects. The successful candidate will be comfortable leading from the front, working alongside the crew, coordinating daily activities, and ensuring our work meets HD Concrete's standards for quality, safety, and productivity.

Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise a crew of concrete placers and finishers on civil and architectural concrete projects
- Work alongside the crew and remain actively involved in placing, finishing, and completing concrete work
- Plan and organize daily crew activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to project requirements
- Review project details, drawings, schedules, and instructions provided by management and the project coordinator and implement them in the field
- Complete and submit required pre-pour checklists, FLHAs, daily paperwork, and other field documentation
- Ensure all crew members follow company quality control and safety requirements
- Identify and address quality concerns during concrete placement and finishing before they become deficiencies
- Coordinate with management and the project coordinator to organize upcoming pours, saw cutting, repairs, and deficiency work
- Communicate regularly with the management team by phone, email, and in-person meetings
- Communicate with Dispatch and the Coordinator regarding crew requirements, concrete orders, pour timing, and scheduling
- Coordinate concrete deliveries and monitor concrete requirements throughout pours
- Complete field takeoffs and measurements to determine concrete volumes and remaining concrete balances




- Communicate professionally with clients, site superintendents, inspectors, and other trades while on site when required
- Monitor manpower and productivity throughout the day and communicate issues or changes to management
- Ensure crews have the required tools, equipment, materials, and information to complete scheduled work
- Maintain an organized and skilled job site and ensure proper cleanup following concrete operations
- Assist with training and developing placers and finishers within the crew

Requirements:

- Previous experience in concrete placing and finishing
- Previous experience as a Foreman, Lead Hand, or similar field leadership role preferred
- Strong knowledge of concrete placement, finishing, curing, sawcutting, and repair practices
- Experience with civil concrete including sidewalks, curbs, gutters, slabs, foundations, walls, and other site concrete is an asset
- Experience with architectural or exposed concrete finishes is an asset
- Ability to read drawings, details, elevations, and project specifications
- Ability to perform field measurements and calculate concrete quantities
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortably using a phone, email, and digital field documentation
- Strong understanding of construction safety and quality control procedures
- Able to lead a crew while remaining actively involved in the work





What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work and their crew. The Placing Foreman is expected to understand what needs to be completed, communicate with the office and field teams, organize the crew, and make sure the work is completed properly.

This is not a position for someone who wants to supervise from the sidelines. Our Foremen are expected to work boots on the ground with their crews while providing leadership, direction, and accountability on site.

The right candidate will be dependable, organized, quality-focused, and capable of representing HD Concrete professionally when dealing with clients and other project stakeholders.

What We Offer:

- Competitive Salary: $130,000/yr
