Construction Team Members play a crucial role on the Post Structures team. A successful Construction Team Member is well-versed in their tasks and is willing to learn, collaborate effectively, and prioritize safety. These qualities are what keep our team operating smoothly.

The Construction Team Member's role encompasses various construction-related tasks, primarily physical labour on farm and rural residential construction projects. Under the direct guidance of the Site Supervisor, the Construction Team's duties encompass activities such as site cleaning, demolition, site preparation, clearing, concrete preparation and pouring, framing, roofing, cladding, general site maintenance, and various other construction-related tasks.

Secure and efficient equipment operation is an essential aspect of this role. This may include operating earth compactors, elevating/mobile work platforms, and various electric and pneumatic tools.

Typical working hours are 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, totaling approximately 42 hours per week. Consistently meeting these hours is important to keeping projects on schedule and the team operating smoothly.

As a rural and agricultural contractor, our job sites are often located on working farms and rural properties. Crew members should expect to work around animals, hay, and other elements of an active agricultural setting.

DUTIES

- Efficiently handle construction materials, tools, and machinery, ensuring proper use and maintenance;
- Actively collaborate with team members and contractors to execute tasks and projects;
- Prepare and maintain the worksite and manage demolition, layout, and construction, including excavation and backfill support, with precision;
- Perform comprehensive concrete-related tasks,



ensuring quality from preparation to finishing;
- Construct sturdy walls using framing techniques and assist with truss setting;
- Contribute to the building's exterior by installing various steel cladding and roofing;
- Carry out interior finishing work, including drywall, related tasks, various other finishes, and fine carpentry;
- Read and interpret blueprints to ensure specifications are met;
- Measure, mark, and prepare materials according to project requirements;
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, ensuring safe and secure working platforms;
- Install essentials such as windows, doors, hardware, and cabinetry to specifications;
- Insulate and poly rooms;
- Direct onsite construction traffic for worker and public safety;
- Maintain rigorous safety and cleanliness standards to foster a safe work environment to company standards;
- Adhere to all regulations and quality standards, and accurately track time using your phone via an app;
- Adapt to various construction tasks and follow directions to support project completion.

EXPERIENCE

- Grade 12 High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is preferred;
- Experience in general construction is an asset;
- Working towards Carpentry certification is an asset;
- Knowledge of worksite safety, including working at heights;
- Ability to operate required equipment safely and responsibly.

As a rural and agricultural contractor, job sites are typically located within approximately one hour of the POST Shop in Alma, ON. Crew members are designated to meet on-site (unless otherwise directed); this limits the collective travel or the group, therefore, reliable transportation is a requirement. Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
