About Teqtronix

Teqtronix International Inc. designs, manufactures and distributes consumer products across categories including electronics, mobile accessories, yoga products and lifestyle goods. Our clients include Staples, Walmart, Indigo, Winners and Marshalls. We work with manufacturers and production partners to develop products from initial concept through production.

Responsibilities

- Develop and modify product concepts for manufactured consumer products based on functionality, user needs, market requirements and brand direction.
- Determine product materials, colours, dimensions, finishes, features and functional requirements in consultation with internal teams and manufacturers.
- Prepare and revise product drawings, design files, specifications and visual presentations using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and AutoCAD.
- Research product materials, manufacturing methods, production limitations, costs and minimum-order requirements.
- Review prototypes, product samples and pre-production samples, identify design or functional issues, and request necessary modifications.
- Prepare product specifications and production guidelines, including dimensions, materials, colour references, printing methods, finishing details and component placement.
- Collaborate with manufacturers and production teams throughout product development and manufacturing to resolve design and production issues.




- Evaluate proposed factory solutions and recommend design changes to improve product usability, appearance, manufacturability and cost efficiency.
- Maintain product-development documentation and provide limited administrative coordination directly related to product-development projects, including organizing specifications, sample records, supplier communications and project files.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in industrial design, architecture or engineering; or a college diploma in industrial design.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant product-design or product-development experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
- Creative and technical design ability demonstrated through a portfolio or relevant work samples.
- English-language proficiency suitable for the position.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for trade fairs, exhibitions and product-development activities.
- Attention to detail.

Work location This is an on-site position at Unit C, 9099 Leslie Street, Richmond Hill, Ontario. There is no remote-work option.
