What’s the role?

As our Copywriter, your primary mission is to turn ideas, expertise, and sometimes complex technical concepts into clear, engaging content that connects with ecommerce merchants and our wider industry.

You’ll create content across a variety of channels, including email campaigns, blogs, website copy, social media, product and feature announcements, customer stories, and partner marketing. One day you might be researching and writing an educational blog about an ecommerce challenge; the next, you could be crafting an email campaign, polishing website copy, or helping tell the story behind a new feature.

You’ll work closely with our Marketing team and collaborate with Customer Success, Product, and other subject-matter experts to understand what matters to our merchants and turn that knowledge into content that is useful,

interesting, and easy to understand.

You’ll also contribute to our SEO and content strategy by researching topics, identifying opportunities, and helping us create content that reaches the right audience without sacrificing quality for keywords.

We’re looking for someone who is curious, creative, and comfortable asking questions. You don't need to walk in knowing everything about shipping or SaaS, but you should enjoy learning about recent topics and be able to translate what you learn into compelling copy.

- Can write clear and engaging copy for different formats, including emails, blogs, websites and landing pages.
- Have strong editing and proofreading skills and a sharp eye for grammar, tone, and consistency.
- Can take a complicated or technical topic and explain it in a way that feels simple and approachable.
- Enjoy researching new topics and digging deeper than the first Google result.
- Understand that great marketing copy should have a purpose, whether that’s educating, engaging, driving action, or building trust.
- Can adapt your writing style depending on the audience, channel, and goal.
- Have an understanding of SEO principles or are eager to learn.
- Communicate clearly, kindly, and efficiently.
- Are proactive and dependable. You see what needs doing and just do it.
- Are comfortable learning different technologies and marketing tools, such as HubSpot,

content management systems, and analytics platforms.
- Have a hunger for knowledge. We are pioneers in a constantly evolving industry.
- Bring a consistent, level-headed presence to everything you do.
- Appreciate a good pun and don’t mind the occasional dad joke.
- Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with HubSpot.
- Experience supporting marketing or cross-functional teams.
- Worked in SaaS or a fast-moving company.
