OVERVIEW

As a Data Specialist at Core6, you will process, validate, and analyze laboratory dataset deliverables across multiple environmental media (soil, groundwater, surface water, vapour, tissue and sediment). In this role, you will take raw analytical results from commercial laboratories, verify electronic data deliverables (EDDs), and systematically compare chemical concentrations against provincial and federal regulatory standards (such as the BC Contaminated Sites Regulation and CCME guidelines). You will design, generate, and maintain clean, error-free summary tables that form the foundation of our environmental investigation reports; helping scientists, engineers, and project managers interpret site conditions and make critical environmental decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

Data Management & Reporting

- Develop and implement data management strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure effective data collection, storage, and analysis.
- Manage and optimize Core6’s ESdat environmental data management platform.
- Collaborate directly with CADD and GIS managers, environmental consultants and technical specialists to structure data for spatial analysis, historical comparison, and site conceptual model development.
- Produce publication-ready,



accurately formatted analytical summary tables for inclusion in various reports (Preliminary Site Investigations, Detailed Site Investigations, Remediation Action Plans, etc.).

Team Leadership & Collaboration

- Provide Subject Matter Expertise guidance and support for Core6’s multi-disciplinary team.
- Collaborate with project managers, IT teams, and environmental scientists to integrate data solutions into project workflows.
- Coordinate with clients, external stakeholders and vendors for data integration and management.
- Be present for in-office collaboration.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in data management, preferably in environmental consulting or natural resources.
- Working knowledge of Environmental Data Collection and BC Regulatory Standards

Technical Skills

- Proficient with ESdat environmental data management software (or similar environmental database tools).
- Hands-on data cleaning and transformation using Power Query, Python, and scripting automation.
- Robust grounding in relational database fundamentals, SQL, and basic IT troubleshooting.

Soft Skills

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Job Types: Full time, Permanent Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
