Job Overview The Medicine Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, secure, and timely delivery of prescription medications prepared by a licensed Alberta pharmacy. This role supports patient access to medications while complying with the Pharmacy and Drug Act, Alberta College of Pharmacy standards, and all applicable privacy and safety regulations. The delivery driver must maintain medication integrity, protect patient confidentiality, and follow documented pharmacy policies and procedures until the medication is received by the authorized recipient.

The successful candidate will demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and professionalism when interacting with patients, pharmacy staff, and healthcare providers.

Job Responsibilities:

- Deliver prescription medications prepared by a licensed pharmacy in a safe, secure, and timely manner
- Follow Alberta College of Pharmacy standards and the Pharmacy and Drug Act during medication transport and delivery
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and prescription information at all times
- Verify recipient identity and obtain proof of delivery as required
- Ensure medications are protected from damage, loss, theft, or temperature exposure during transport
- Follow documented pharmacy policies and procedures for handling, delivery, and returns
- Accurately complete delivery logs, records, and audit documentation
- Report delivery issues, delays, discrepancies, or incidents immediately to pharmacy management
- Communicate professionally with patients, caregivers, and pharmacy staff
- Maintain a clean, safe, and road-worthy delivery vehicle
- Comply with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies

Qualifications





- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a criminal record check and background screening
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) standards and the Pharmacy and Drug Act
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and privacy requirements (e.g., HIPAA/PIPA principles)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Professional communication and customer service skills
- Ability to safely handle and transport medications, including temperature-sensitive items
- Physically able to lift and carry packages as required
- Access to a reliable, insured vehicle (if using personal vehicle)
- Ability to work independently and follow written procedures
