About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead HR across our growing group of companies. Working closely with ownership and senior leadership, this hands-on role oversees employee relations, recruitment, health and safety, compensation, compliance, and workforce planning. We’re looking for a practical HR leader who can shape strategy while staying connected to our manufacturing, field, and office teams.

What You'll Own

HR Leadership & Strategy

- Lead HR across Canadian and US operations.
- Partner with ownership and leadership on workforce planning and people strategy.
- Develop practical HR policies, programs, and processes that support growth.

Employee Relations & Performance

- Lead employee relations, investigations, discipline, performance management, and terminations.
- Coach managers and strengthen performance reviews, development, and succession planning.

Recruitment & Retention





- Lead recruitment across manufacturing, skilled trades, field, office, and leadership roles.
- Build talent pipelines and strengthen onboarding, retention, and internal advancement.

Health, Safety & Compliance

- Oversee health and safety compliance across manufacturing and field operations.
- Manage workplace injuries, claims, accommodations, modified duties, and return-to-work programs.
- Ensure employment practices, training, and documentation remain compliant.

Compensation, Benefits & HR Operations

- Oversee compensation, benefits, performance reviews, and HR administration.
- Maintain competitive wage structures and accurate employee records and reporting.

Technology & Improvement

- Improve HR systems, timekeeping, attendance, reporting, and employee data processes.
- Use technology and automation to streamline HR and provide meaningful workforce insights.

What You'll Bring

- 5–10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
- 3–5+ years of HR leadership or management experience
- Experience within manufacturing, construction, skilled trades, or another industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of employment standards, occupational health and safety, workers' compensation,



accommodation, and employment practices
- Demonstrated experience managing employee relations, investigations, performance management, and workplace conflict
- Experience supporting both hourly production employees and field-based or skilled-trades employees
- Strong recruitment and workforce planning experience, particularly within competitive skilled-trades environments
- Experience with compensation, benefits, HR systems, and workforce reporting
- A hands-on leadership style with the ability to work effectively with ownership, senior leadership, managers, supervisors, and frontline employees
- Strong judgment, communication, organization, and confidentiality
- Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field
- CHRL, CPHR, SHRM-SCP, or another recognized HR designation is considered a robust asset
- Experience supporting Canadian and US operations is an asset

Compensation and Benefits

- $100,000 – $140,000 salary, commensurate with experience
