Grace Note Child Care Centre is looking for a passionate, caring, and dedicated Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to join our close-knit team!

We are a reputable child care centre located in the West End of Halifax, providing high-quality care and early learning experiences for children 4 months to 5 years of age. Our program follows a play-based, emergent curriculum that supports children's individual interests, development, & learning goals.

Position Details

- Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday to Friday
- Start Date: To be determined (flexible)
- Wage: Based on ECE Classification Level and years of experience in the field
- Location: West End, Halifax, NS

~ Our Classrooms ~ We have five classrooms curated for children of the following ages:
- Infant: 4–18 months
- Junior Toddler: 18–24 months
- Senior Toddler: 2–3 years
- Junior Preschool: 3–4 years
- Senior Preschool: 4–5 years

~ Our Team ~ Our team includes 12 educators, support staff, an Inclusion Coordinator, a cook, and a Director.

~ Qualifications & Requirements ~

Candidates must have

- A valid Nova Scotia ECE Classification (Level 1, 2, or 3)
- First Aid & CPR Level C Certification
- A clear Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Check
- A clear Child Abuse Register Check

- Supporting children's social, emotional, physical, & cognitive development
- Implementing positive behaviour guidance strategies
- Planning & implementing engaging activities that foster learning & development
- Following a play-based, emergent curriculum
- Maintaining a clean, safe, organized, & welcoming classroom environment
- Completing general cleaning & sanitizing duties, including sweeping, mopping, laundry, and wiping tables, counters, & shelves
- Communicating respectfully & effectively with children, families, & colleagues
- Working collaboratively as part of a supportive team
- Taking initiative and contributing positively to the day-to-day operation of the centre
