We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Economic Development Champion, BRED (1-Year Contract) to help drive the Innisfil Heights Business Retention, Expansion and Diversification (BRED) Initiative. In this exciting role, you will connect with businesses, coordinate projects, identify opportunities, and help position Innisfil Heights for its next stage of growth. It is an opportunity to do meaningful, hands-on economic development work while building relationships and helping strengthen and diversify Innisfil’s local economy.

In this role you will bring sector stakeholders together, identify trends and opportunities, and will also be responsible for:

- Developing and supporting “Business Retention, Expansion and Diversification”, including coordinating industry tours, facilitating attendance at targeted sector events, and other supporting initiatives.
- Coordinating economic studies (i.e. Business Retention and Expansion Survey); activities include facilitating the collection and analysis of data, the preparation of agendas, presentation of reports and proposals, making presentations and facilitation of discussions, and following up on outstanding business.
- Developing program materials and supporting the Town’s new “Community Improvement Plan”.
- Building and maintaining strong connections and working relationships with community group partners and stakeholders to realize effective developments that contribute to the growth and development of the community.
- Acting as a resource and advocate for business and community groups to help organize, promote, secure funding and provide assistance that will advance the objectives of the community strategic plan.
- Providing strategic planning and/ or policy development recommendations to the Economic Development Manager based on trend analysis.

The preferred candidate holds

- A University Degree in Business Administration, Planning, Economics,



Environmental Studies, Economic Development or equivalent / related discipline.
- Professional Designation in Economic Development (Ec. D). and membership with the Economic Developers Association of Canada is an asset.
- A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years related experience in a related position including working in a fast-paced environment. Municipal experience is an asset.
- Class G driver’s license in good standing and reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.
- Available to attend evening and/or weekend meetings or other events and accommodate deadlines; and to respond to emergencies as required.

Closing date is October 14, 2026.

The wage range for this upcoming new and vacant contract position is $46.31 - $59.10 per hour (Based on a 35-hour week) and the successful candidate will be compensated within this range.
