Glenmore Christian Academy (GCA) is a private Alberta accredited Christian school located in the Southwest of Calgary, Alberta, specializing in the education of children in Grades JK-9. GCA is a member of AISCA (Association of Independent Schools and Colleges in Alberta) as well as ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International). GCA’s mission is to Teach Truth, Inspire Excellence, Experience Christ and Serve Through Love.

GCA has a head of school, two principals, three vice principals and a staff of over 125 serving approximately 1000 students.

GCA is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) teacher to cover a maternity leave. Responsibilities include teaching French to Grades 4 and 5, and Physical Education to students in Kindergarten through Grade 5. Under the direction and mentorship of the Elementary Principal. This position is a term contract from December 15, 2026, to June 25, 2027 .

Qualifications

- Is able to clearly express his or her faith and relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour
- Bachelor of Education
- AB Permanent or Interim Certificate (or ability to attain one)
- AB Letter of Authority
- At least two years of teaching French is preferred

- Teach students using lessons, discussions, audio-visual presentations, digital delivery and field trips
- Design effective strategies to meet the children’s diverse learning needs
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Fluent in English and conversational French
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills
- Proven attention to detail, organizational and documenting / tracking skills, as well as analytical problem-solving abilities
- Ability to create engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate physical education experiences that encourage all students to participate and enjoy physical activity
