Emera is looking for a Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting to enhance financial reporting in Halifax, NS. Lead the team in navigating accounting complexities while fostering continuous improvement and collaboration.

You will report to the Corporate Controller and be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards, analyzing financial practices, and overseeing critical reporting functions. Your strategic leadership will help build effective relationships across business units and with external auditors.

Key Responsibilities: • Analyze and communicate accounting treatments for new transactions • Ensure compliance with current USGAAP and industry practices • Direct the timely completion of MD&A; and financial statements • Support Corporate Accounting Team in monthly reporting • Engage with external auditors on disclosure matters

Requirements: • CPA required with a relevant degree • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience • Solid grasp of financial reporting principles • Proven leadership and communication skills • Well-developed project management capabilities
