General Labourer — Entry Level

Pay: $[19–21]/hour, based on experience

We are looking for a dependable, hardworking General Labourer to join our team. This is an entry-level position, and no previous experience is required.

I am willing to train the right person and teach you practical construction and renovation skills through hands-on experience. This is an opportunity to learn directly from me, develop a broad skill set, and gradually take on more responsibility as your abilities grow.

Skills You Will Learn

With hands-on training, you will have the opportunity to learn skills including:

- Framing — walls, floors, ceilings, and general structural framing
- Building Codes — understanding and applying applicable building code requirements
- Drywall — installation, mudding, taping, sanding, and finishing
- Flooring — installation of various flooring materials
- Cabinetry & Finish Carpentry — cabinet installation, trim, doors, baseboards, and other finishing work
- Tiling & Waterproofing — tile installation, preparation, waterproofing systems, and proper finishing techniques
- Painting — surface preparation, priming, cutting, rolling, and finishing
- Siding — installation and finishing of exterior siding
- General Construction & Renovation — learning how the different stages of a project come together from start to finish

respectful, and easy to work with
- Has a reliable vehicle and is able to get themselves to various job sites
- Previous construction, maintenance, landscaping, or trades experience is an asset, but not required

Vehicle Requirement A reliable personal vehicle is required for this position. Our work takes place at different job sites, so the successful candidate must have reliable transportation to and from work and be able to get themselves to various job locations as required.

Responsibilities

Duties will vary depending on the project and may include:

- General labour and material handling
- Loading and unloading materials
- Assisting with construction and renovation projects
- Using basic hand and power tools
- Keeping the work area clean and organized
- Following safety procedures
- Learning and applying new construction skills
- Assisting with framing, drywall, flooring, cabinetry, tiling, painting, siding, and other projects
- Taking direction and gradually working more independently as skills develop
