KESA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Position Overview
Kootenay East Soccer Association (KESA) is seeking an Executive Director to provide day-to-day operational leadership for the club and support the continued development of its programs and services.
The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors, Technical Director, Administrator, coaches and volunteers to ensure the club operates effectively and consistently with its goals, policies and governing-body requirements.
This role is intended to provide operational leadership and reduce the day-to-day administrative workload currently carried by volunteer Board members, while the Board maintains overall governance and oversight.
Responsibilities The Executive Director will be accountable to the Board of Directors and will be responsible for:
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the club.
- Coordinating the operational delivery of House League, Rep/Development and other KESA programs.
- Working closely with the Technical Director, Administrator, Bookkeeper and KESA Board to ensure programs are well organized and supported.
- Supporting registration, scheduling, communications, team administration and seasonal planning.
- Overseeing tournament and event planning and operations.
- Monitoring club budgets and financial activity, and providing financial information and recommendations to the Board.
- Coordinating equipment, uniforms, facilities and field requirements.
- Supporting coaches and volunteers and helping maintain consistent club standards.
- Ensuring programs operate in accordance with BC Soccer and Canada Soccer requirements.
- Maintaining effective communication with players, parents, coaches, volunteers and club leadership.
- Identifying operational issues and taking ownership of solutions and follow-up.
- Supporting annual planning, AGM preparation and implementation of Board decisions.
- Providing regular updates,
recommendations and operational reports to the Board.
Qualifications
- Experience in management, administration, operations or project coordination.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, coaches, parents and Board members.
- Experience working within a non-profit, community or sport organization is an asset.
- Experience with budgeting and financial administration is an asset.
- Experience in soccer or another organized sport is an asset.
- Coaching or technical experience is an asset, but is not a requirement.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership and manage competing priorities.
Position Details The position is expected to include a combination of administrative and on-site responsibilities, with hours varying depending on the time of year and club programming. This is a flexible-hours position, with the schedule and specific hours determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and the operational needs of the club. Compensation will range from $28–$35 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Specific hours, schedule, compensation, and division of responsibilities will be finalized with the successful candidate based on their experience, qualifications, and the operational needs of the club.
