Toronto Metropolitan University is reshaping the downtown core of Toronto with three current buildings: the Mattamy Athletic Centre at the Gardens, the Toronto Metropolitan University Image Centre in the heart of campus, and a Student Learning Centre on Yonge Street. In addition,



currently in progress is the development of a new multipurpose building, the Church Street development (CSD). This new building will be located just north of Dundas on Church Street and will be home to four academic health services programs, Toronto Met.

University food services, administration, and a student residence.

Responsibilities

Invigilating/supervising tests and exams Maintaining academic integrity by strictly adhering to the University’s regulations, policies, and procedures regarding tests/exams

Maintaining confidentiality of student and test/exam information

Setting up exam rooms and keeping test/exam rooms organized

Documenting any incidents during tests/exam and reporting incidents to professor

Preparing completed exams for pick-up/delivery

Invigilators may be required to report 0.5 hours before and stay 0.5 hours after the exam to assist the instructor. Further instruction will be provided from department administrator and/or instructor regarding details.

3 Estimated Total Hours of Work*

- Actual hours may vary at offer time dependent on number of invigilation shifts. Employees shall not be guaranteed work and when not on assignment they shall not receive any pay or payment in lieu of benefits.

Qualifications

Qualification Description:



Previous invigilation experience preferred

Applicants must NOT be current undergraduate students, greater preference is accorded to TMU graduate students

Strong knowledge of exam policy, procedures, and academic integrity preferred

Punctuality and reliability are essential

Ability to handle emergency/stressful situations effectively and with attention to detail

Ability to use tact/discretion when dealing with sensitive or confidential situations

Good communication skills - oral and written

Salary & Compensation

September 1, 2025 to August 31, 2026 Exam Invigilator - $29.43 per hour

September 1, 2026 to August 31, 2027

Exam Invigilator - $30.17 per hour
