We’re currently seeking year-round Facilities Operators – Building & Event Operations. We’re looking for individuals who take pride in maintaining a high-quality facility, enjoy hands-on work, and want to be part of building something meaningful in a community setting.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, highly visible role at the heart of our facility operations.

You’ll play a key part in executing large-scale setups, supporting high-volume events, and ensuring the facility is consistently clean, safe, and ready for use. From room setups and building maintenance to supporting major rentals and trade shows, no two days will look the same.

Candidates with Arena Operator certification are encouraged to apply; however, success in this role is driven by overall operational capability, work ethic, and ability to perform reliably in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires ownership, initiative, and attention to detail. Our facility is a central hub for the community, and we’re looking for team members who treat it that way.

You will report to the Facilities Manager and work closely with the Food & Beverage team, Events & Programs staff, front desk, and volunteers to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities





Facility Operations (Day-to-Day)

- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the facility
- Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, and general upkeep
- Conduct regular building and equipment checks and proactively identify issues
- Support custodial tasks as needed, especially during peak periods
- Monitor and report on building systems and equipment

Event & Rental Support

- Execute high-volume, time-sensitive event setups and tear-downs
- Assist with large-scale setups including:
- Trade shows
- Markets
- Banquets and community events
- Set up and move tables, chairs, staging, equipment, and layout configurations
- Support rapid facility conversions (arena, curling rink, halls, lobby spaces, squash courts)
- Take ownership of setup quality, efficiency, and readiness of spaces

Health, Safety & Operations

- Follow all safety procedures and protocols
- Ensure compliance with facility policies and operational standards
- Assist with emergency response when required
- Maintain tools, equipment, and storage areas in an organized manner

Community & Teamwork

- Provide friendly, helpful support to members, renters, and guests
- Work collaboratively with all departments during busy periods
- Take ownership of your role and contribute ideas for improvement
- Represent ACA values through professionalism and service

What We’re Looking For

- Arena Operator Level I and/or II certification strongly preferred
- Experience in facility operations, arena operations, event logistics,



or similar environments
- Proven ability to work in quick-paced, physically demanding, hands-on roles
- Strong execution skills - ability to complete setups efficiently and to a high standard
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends based on operational needs
- A community mindset – you care about people, not just tasks

We are prioritizing candidates who bring a combination of operational experience and strong execution capability in event-driven environments.

Role Clarity

This position is focused on facility and event operations, including setups, conversions, and day-to-day building support.

While the team works collaboratively across all areas of the facility, ice operations and specialized equipment (e.g., Zamboni operation) are assigned based on role requirements, training, and certification, and are not core expectations of this position.

Our operations team is intentionally structured with a mix of skill sets. Progression into specialized operator responsibilities may occur over time based on experience, certification, and organizational need.
