Basic Function and Scope

The Financial Analyst provides financial and accounting expertise and support to the organization and its decision-making processes and assumes key responsibilities for internal and external financial reporting. The Financial Analyst delivers consistent, accurate, and timely information and analysis while providing excellent customer service to all internal and external stakeholders.

Pay Rate

$33.80-$46.79

Qualifications & Requirements

- Education
- Degree in business or relevant program of study;
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA)

- Experience
- Minimum 3 years financial / clinical analysis experience including accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and business case development (healthcare preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in account reconciliations and year-end external audit
- Experience using multiple data sources (financial, statistical, case costing, CIHI databases, Ministry data) to develop and prepare analysis

- Required Skills
- Promotes a positive team environment where staff can identify opportunities, problem solve and implement strategies to improve processes
- Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative relationships with clinical and administrative leaders across the organization and within the region
- Ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines, address critical issues relating to changing organizational climate and personnel issues.
- Self-directed, action oriented and highly motivated, an adept team player and team leader
- Well-developed analytical,



problem-solving and organization skills in order to meet conflicting priorities/deadlines
- Prior experience in using and/or implementing major Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems or a health care financial module and Business Intelligence software
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office products, especially MS Excel and Power Point
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of OHRS and MIS reporting requirements
- Knowledge of Long Term Care reporting requirements
- Demonstrated commitment to personal growth and development
- Maintains professional currency;
- Maintains regular attendance at work;
- Performs related duties as assigned.
