JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a energetic and detail-oriented Financial / Cost Analyst who handles customer and item profitability as well as production orders cost and yield analysis. This position will support month-end activities, assisting with audit work, and supporting the Accounting Department as required.

SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
- Degree in Accounting or Business degree.
- Advanced Excel user with experience in pivot tables and filters.
- Previous experience or knowledge of Microsoft D365 F&O; is an asset.
- Previous experience in the food manufacturing/processing industry will be an added advantage.
- Positive attitude, ability to self-manage and work independently.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Hands-on team member.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Maintain and analyze product costs across multiple divisions, facilities, product types, and manufacturing processes.
- Analyze Bills of Materials, production quantities, yields, units of measure, and cost allocations.
- Identify unusual or inaccurate product costs and investigate underlying operational or system causes.
- Assist with maintaining appropriate standard, forecast, and actual product costs.
- Evaluate how changes in commodity/input costs, labour, overhead, formulations, packaging, yields, and production volumes affect finished goods costs.
- Prepare and maintain margin reporting by appropriate dimensions such as: Division, Facility, Product/SKU, Product category, Customer, Customer group
- Analyze actual margins against budget, forecast, prior periods, and established targets.




- Bridge margin changes between major drivers including: Selling price, Product/input cost, Volume, Product mix, Customer mix, Manufacturing efficiency, Rebates, Freight/distribution, Overhead
- Identify products and customers with deteriorating or abnormal margins.
- Prepare monthly operational cost analysis by division and facility.
- Compare actual manufacturing costs against budget and forecast.
- Calculate appropriate operational KPIs such as cost per kg, dozen, case, unit, or other relevant measures.
- Separate cost variances caused by changes in volume from those caused by spending or operating performance.
- Provide Finance and Operations with concise explanations of significant variances.
- Support the annual budgeting process.
- Other duties as required or assigned.

Pay: From $85,000.00 per year
