Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Floor Waxer to join our team on an as-needed basis for a dynamic commercial renovation space. This role is essential in maintaining the aesthetic appeal and safety of the flooring throughout the renovation process. The ideal candidate will bring energy, precision, and a proactive attitude to ensure floors are polished to perfection, creating a welcoming environment for clients and staff alike.

Responsibilities

- Prepare floors by cleaning, stripping old wax, and ensuring surfaces are ready for waxing or polishing.
- Apply floor wax, sealers, or polish using appropriate tools and techniques to achieve a smooth, glossy finish.
- Use hand tools such as scrapers, buffers, and applicators to facilitate even application and finishing.
- Follow safety protocols when handling chemicals, equipment, and working in active construction zones.
- Collaborate with renovation team members to coordinate work schedules and ensure minimal disruption during project phases.
- Conduct inspections of finished floors to verify quality standards are met and identify areas needing touch-up or reapplication.




- Maintain cleanliness of work area and properly store tools and materials after each job.

Requirements

- Proven experience with floor waxing, polishing, or related maintenance tasks in commercial or construction environments.
- Familiarity with hand tools such as scrapers, buffers, applicators, and other flooring equipment.
- Basic knowledge of construction processes including flooring installation, tile laying, or carpentry is preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints or technical instructions related to flooring projects.
- Robust attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship.
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift heavy materials, and work in various environmental conditions for extended periods.
- Previous handyman experience or general construction background is a plus.
