Our projects typically range in value from approximately $500,000 to $40 million and often involve multiple scopes of work being completed concurrently within active municipal and industrial facilities. We are currently seeking an experienced Site Foreman & Lead Carpenter to join our team for an out-of-town project.

The Role

This is a working foreman position. We are looking for someone who is comfortable leading from the front — working alongside the crew while also coordinating manpower, subcontractors, materials, equipment, and the day-to-day execution of the work.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Site Superintendent to lead crews and help oversee multi-faceted construction projects involving several different scopes of work. This position requires someone who can move between hands-on construction activities and field leadership throughout the day.

This is not a supervisory-only position. The ideal candidate is an experienced field leader who can pick up the tools when required, provide direction to the crew, coordinate subcontractors, solve field issues, and help keep the overall project moving forward.

While strong concrete and formwork experience is important, we are looking for a well-rounded construction professional who is comfortable working across a variety of scopes typically encountered on civil, municipal, and light-industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as a working foreman, leading crews while remaining actively involved in the physical work.
- Lead and coordinate Sure-Form crews across multiple scopes of work.
- Perform and oversee concrete formwork, reinforcing preparation, concrete placement, and related carpentry activities.
- Coordinate day-to-day manpower, materials,



equipment, subcontractors, and workflow.
- Help plan and sequence upcoming work with the Site Superintendent.
- Supervise subcontractors and coordinate their activities with Sure-Form's work.
- Complete and verify site layout, elevations, dimensions, and work locations.
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and field instructions.
- Identify material, equipment, and manpower requirements before they impact production.
- Perform and oversee miscellaneous construction activities including concrete demolition, installation of miscellaneous metals, temporary works, civil work, and general site activities.
- Operate skid steers, light equipment, power tools, and other construction equipment as required.
- Provide direction, training, and mentorship to apprentices and less-experienced employees.
- Maintain an organized, productive, and safe work area.
- Promote Sure-Form's safety culture and ensure crews and subcontractors follow project safety requirements.
- Identify field issues early and work with the Superintendent and project team to develop practical solutions.
- Help maintain productivity, quality, and schedule across several concurrent work fronts.

Qualifications
- Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter certification is preferred; however, candidates with substantial relevant field experience will also be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of construction experience, preferably in concrete/formwork, civil, commercial, municipal, or light-industrial construction.
- Previous experience as a working foreman, foreman, lead hand, or senior carpenter responsible for leading crews.
- Strong experience with concrete construction and formwork.
- Experience coordinating multiple scopes, trades, and subcontractors is considered a strong asset.




- Ability to perform and verify construction layout.
- Comfortable reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Able to organize crews, sequence work, and maintain productivity in the field.
- Willingness and ability to perform a wide variety of construction activities rather than working within only one trade or scope.
- Solid communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience operating skid steers and other common construction equipment is considered an asset.
- Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform the physical requirements of the position.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence and reliable transportation.
