We are looking for a licensed gas technician to join our fireplace service team. You will diagnose, maintain, and repair fireplaces and related equipment in customers’ homes throughout Southern Georgian Bay.

This position combines technical troubleshooting, independent fieldwork, customer communication, and performance-based earning opportunities. It includes a competitive base salary, overtime pay, and commission opportunities tied to legitimate customer-approved work.

Our approach is customer-first. Technicians are expected to diagnose accurately, explain options clearly, and recommend only the work the customer genuinely needs. Commission is intended to reward technical thoroughness, strong communication, and successful customer outcomes—not unnecessary repairs or high-pressure selling.

What You’ll Do

- Diagnose fireplace performance and operational issues.
- Complete fireplace maintenance, cleaning, inspections, and repairs.
- Test gas pressure, ignition systems, safety controls, venting, and appliance operation.
- Identify worn, damaged, unsafe, or failed components.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, gas, and venting-related issues.




- Replace approved parts and complete authorized repairs.
- Confirm safe and proper appliance operation before leaving the home.
- Explain findings and repair options clearly to customers.
- Provide accurate recommendations based on safety, condition, and customer needs.
- Prepare repair options, estimates, or replacement recommendations when appropriate.
- Identify legitimate opportunities for repairs, maintenance, accessories, or appliance replacement.
- Document work using photos, measurements, notes, model information, and serial numbers.
- Collect customer approvals and signatures when required.
- Maintain service vehicle inventory, tools, and commonly used parts.
- Communicate with office staff regarding parts, follow-up visits, warranties, and scheduling.
- Reduce repeat visits by completing thorough diagnoses and documenting unresolved issues.

Who We’re Looking For You may be a good fit for this position if you:
- Hold a valid G2 or G1 Gas Technician licence.
- Are an experienced G3 technician actively working toward your G2 licence.
- Hold a valid driver’s licence and have a clean driving record.
- Want to build a long-term technical career.
- Have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Are comfortable working independently in customers’ homes.
- Can communicate technical information in clear, straightforward language.




- Are confident presenting repair options without pressuring the customer.
- Take accurate notes and complete thorough digital documentation.
- Are organized and able to manage multiple service calls.
- Take responsibility for the quality and completeness of your work.
- Are willing to learn new products, controls, and diagnostic methods.
- Can safely lift and move fireplace components, tools, and replacement parts.

Previous experience in gas fireplace service, HVAC, appliance repair, electrical troubleshooting, gas fitting, or field service is considered an asset.
