Job Overview

We are seeking dedicated and hardworking Farm Hands to join our Christmas tree farm. The ideal candidate will have a willingness to learn various tasks associated with our farm operations. This role requires physical stamina, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to operate farm machinery and other equipment. No education required, we can train on the job.

Responsibilities

- Planting and maintaining seedlings, screening and manufacturing soil for greenhouse, pull seedlings for transplant.
- Assist in planting, fertilizing, spacing, shearing, flagging and cutting trees for harvest.
- Cutting and tying boughs and wreaths.
- Culling of problematic trees.
- Dragging, loading and hauling trees with tractor to tree yard.
- Help to grade and process trees (including shaking, baling, organizing and loading).
- Make up firewood for bunkhouses, bag firewood and kindling for resale, load trucks with firewood for delivery.
- Assist in repairing and maintaining wood processor.
- Operate and maintain farm machinery, including tractors and other heavy equipment.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools for various tasks.




- Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and service vehicles to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain yards, building fences, clean catch basins and draining ditches in tree yards.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks as needed throughout the farm.

Requirements

- Mechanical knowledge is essential for troubleshooting and maintaining equipment.
- Experience with power tools and hand tools is preferred.
- Ability to operate chain saws, tractors, ATVs and vehicle safely and efficiently.
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating farm-related tasks.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) regularly.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- A solid work ethic and ability to follow instructions effectively.
- Prior experience in agriculture or farming is a plus but not mandatory.
