We are seeking a motivated, dependable General Labourer/Driver to join our growing team at JAG Industries. This role offers an exciting chance to work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting and contribute to a variety of steel and miscellaneous metal projects. The successful candidate will assist with fabrication tasks, operate various machinery, and safely transport materials and finished goods to site.
A strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety are essential for success in this role.
Duties
- Load and unload steel materials, components, and finished products using appropriate hand tools and machinery such as forklifts and cranes
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings
- Assist with assembly tasks, ensuring all components are correctly fitted according to safety standards and quality requirements
- Safely transport materials within the facility or to external locations using company vehicles, adhering to all traffic and safety regulations
- Support manufacturing operations by maintaining a clean work environment and adhering to safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- Clean Driver's Abstract
- WHIMIS an asset but not required
- Previous experience in steel fabrication or manufacturing environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, hand tools, and other machinery safely and efficiently; certification is a plus
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and mechanical diagrams accurately
- Attention to detail for quality inspection tasks using calipers and other precision tools
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a quick-paced setting.
