General Manager – High-End Restaurant – Old Montreal

We are currently seeking a General Manager to lead a well-established restaurant located in the heart of Old Montreal.

Established for several decades, the restaurant welcomes both local and international guests in one of Montreal’s most iconic neighbourhoods. Its operations combine à la carte dining, group dining, private events, and banquets, creating a diverse and dynamic environment.

Above all, we are looking for a people-focused and engaging leader who can bring together an experienced management team, support the development of their managers, and foster strong collaboration across departments.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the overall management and day-to-day performance of the restaurant
- Lead, coach, and develop the management team
- Foster strong collaboration between front-of-house, kitchen, and events teams
- Maintain high standards of service, guest experience, and operational quality
- Oversee financial planning and monitor key performance indicators
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the restaurant’s strategic direction
- Ensure smooth and efficient operations during high-volume periods
- Promote employee engagement, satisfaction, and development
- Work closely with the organization’s various support functions
- Anticipate operational and staffing needs based on business levels
- Maintain a solid presence on the floor and ensure seamless communication across departments

Candidate Profile

- Experience as a General Manager, Director of Operations, or in a comparable restaurant leadership role
- Significant experience in a high-volume restaurant environment
- Experience leading and developing a management team
- Strong knowledge of restaurant operations and financial management
- A people-focused, engaging, and approachable leadership style
- Ability to coach, inspire, and develop managers
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills




- Ability to effectively balance operational, people, and financial priorities
- Versatility and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Experience in hotel food and beverage operations or an environment combining restaurant and event operations is considered an asset
- Fluency in both French and English is required
- Canadian citizenship or permanent residency is required

Compensation and Benefits

- Base salary: $100,000+, depending on experience
- Performance bonus of up to 15%
- Four weeks of vacation
- Five floating days
- Group insurance, with 50% of premiums covered by the employer
- Employer RRSP contribution
