Group Strength Coach & Personal Trainer — Women’s Fitness

MOVE is looking for an energetic, knowledgeable and inspiring Group Strength Coach & Personal Trainer who loves working with women and helping them become stronger, more confident and capable.
Since 2017, MOVE has been dedicated to changing the way women experience fitness. Through small-group strength training and personal training, we teach women how to MOVE WELL. GET STRONG. BE YOUR BEST.
We’re looking for a coach who can deliver an exceptional training experience while building genuine relationships with our members.
THE ROLE
As a MOVE Strength Coach & Personal Trainer, you will:
- Coach MOVE small-group strength training classes for women
- Provide one-on-one personal training
- Teach proper movement, mobility and functional strength techniques
- Coach Olympic-barbell and other strength-based movements safely and confidently
- Bring energy, encouragement and leadership to every session
- Adapt exercises and coaching to different fitness levels, abilities and goals
- Help members develop confidence in strength training and establish sustainable fitness habits
- Contribute to MOVE’s functional strength programming, including mobility, technical lifting and conditioning
- Support new members through trials and MOVE’s 90-Day Onboarding experience
- Build relationships with members and help create the welcoming, supportive environment MOVE is known for
- Help deliver a consistent WOW member experience
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Great coaching is about more than knowing exercises.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Previous group fitness or strength coaching experience
- Personal training experience
- Experience coaching with an Olympic barbell
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence leading and inspiring groups
- High energy and a positive, professional attitude
- Empathy and the ability to connect with women at different stages of their fitness journey
- A genuine desire to learn, develop and become a better coach
- Passion for strength, movement, healthy living and women’s empowerment
- Reliability and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team
Availability: Flexibility to coach mornings, evenings and weekends as required.
CERTIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
Relevant fitness education and certifications are an asset. These may include:
Strength training, Landmine University, CHEK Institute, Weck Method, kettlebell training, powerlifting, DTS, Agatsu, StrongFirst, CrossFit L1/L2, NSCA-CSCS, movement and mobility, Animal Flow, FMS, CanFitPro, ACE or other recognized fitness and strength-training certifications.
We value coaches who are committed to continuing education and developing their craft.
BEYOND COACHING
MOVE is a community, and our coaches play an important role in building it.
Depending on the role and schedule, you may also:
- Participate in MOVE social and community events
- Support member engagement and retention initiatives
- Contribute to social media and fitness content
- Participate in neighbourhood business collaborations and community outreach
- Support club marketing initiatives
- Help maintain a clean, organized and welcoming training environment
- Assist with administrative responsibilities as required
You may work with platforms such as MINDBODY, Jane, Canva, Adobe, WODup, Mailchimp, Squarespace and Google Workspace. Experience with these platforms is helpful but not required.
