Transdev Canada is seeking dedicated and compassionate HandyDART Bus Drivers to join our Duncan team.

Part-Time | Duncan, BC | $32.94/hour | Unionized

As a HandyDART Bus Driver, you’ll play an important role in helping people with disabilities and mobility challenges get where they need to go safely and comfortably.

You’ll provide more than transportation—you’ll provide respectful, compassionate service and help passengers maintain their independence and connection to their community. If you enjoy driving, working with people, and making a positive difference, we’d love to hear from you!

Your role:

- - Assist passengers: Safely and respectfully assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including securing mobility devices and providing support as needed.

- - Drive safely: Operate HandyDART vehicles safely and professionally while following traffic laws, company procedures, and accessible transportation standards.

- - Follow routes and schedules: Follow assigned routes and schedules and make designated stops to help passengers arrive at their destinations safely and on time.

- - Provide excellent customer service: Create a welcoming, respectful, and supportive experience for passengers while responding to their individual needs.

- - Complete vehicle inspections: Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and report any defects or maintenance concerns promptly.

- - Support passenger safety: Follow procedures for the safe use of accessibility equipment and mobility-device securement

Your profile:

- - A valid Class 4 Unrestricted driver's licence or equivalent.

- - A clean driving record.

- - Strong customer service skills and a genuine interest in helping others.

- - Patience, empathy, and the ability to interact respectfully with passengers with disabilities and mobility challenges.

- - Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- - Ability to safely operate accessibility equipment and secure mobility devices.

- - Ability to pass required drug and alcohol testing and background checks.

- - Previous experience in passenger transportation or working with individuals with disabilities is an asset.

Your location:

- - Part-time, unionized position based in Duncan, BC.

- - HandyDART Drivers must be available to work five days per week, with two consecutive days off.

- - Early, split, and late shifts may be required.

- - Flexibility with scheduling is important, as shifts are based on operational requirements.
