The Harvesting Supervisor is a hands‑on leader responsible for supervising and coordinating daily greenhouse harvesting and directly related crop handling activities. This role oversees workers involved in harvesting, trimming, bucking, sorting, hanging, drying preparation, organizing, and moving harvested crop material through the required crop handling stages.

The Harvesting Supervisor ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards, sanitation requirements, biosecurity protocols, quality expectations, standard operating procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. The role is responsible for assigning daily tasks, coordinating labour, monitoring harvest progress, supporting employee training, addressing operational concerns, and maintaining effective communication with management and other cultivation teams.

Success in this role requires practical experience in commercial greenhouse or agricultural crop production, strong leadership and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to supervise employees directly on the production floor while supporting quality, productivity, safety, and a respectful workplace culture.

This role is based at our Pacifica facility in Delta, BC, and reports to the Cultivation Manager.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers, greenhouse labourers, and harvesting labourers involved in greenhouse crop production, harvesting, and directly related crop handling activities.

- Organize daily tasks and assign work to ensure harvesting, deleafing, crop handling, sanitation, and related agricultural activities are completed according to production priorities.

- Direct agricultural crop deleafing activities and ensure work is completed according to established crop production and quality standards.

- Supervise and oversee harvesting, growing, and other crop-related operations within the greenhouse environment.

- Establish daily work priorities and coordinate labour based on crop readiness, harvest schedules, production requirements, staffing levels, and operational needs.

- Supervise the harvesting and handling of greenhouse crops, including cutting, deleafing, trimming, bucking, sorting, hanging, drying preparation, weighing, organizing, and moving harvested crop material.

- Ensure harvested crop material is properly identified, separated, organized, and handled according to batch, harvest group, production procedures, and company requirements.





- Monitor the quality and condition of crops and harvested plant material and report concerns such as contamination, pest issues, crop damage, moisture concerns, quality deviations, or production issues to management.

- Maintain quality control and production records related to harvesting activities, labour output, crop volumes, crop movement, task completion, and production progress.

- Maintain daily work records, logs, checklists, and other operational documentation as required.

- Support the maintenance of accurate production records and provide harvest and labour information to management for operational planning and reporting.

- Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of farm safety, sanitation, and biosecurity procedures.

- Ensure farm safety, sanitation, and biosecurity procedures are followed by all employees working within harvest and crop handling areas.

- Provide training, coaching, and guidance to employees on harvesting procedures, crop handling techniques, deleafing, sanitation, biosecurity, health and safety requirements, equipment use, and company standard operating procedures.

- Support the hiring, orientation, and training of new employees and provide ongoing instruction and performance feedback to team members.

- Monitor employee productivity, work quality, attendance, and compliance with established procedures and communicate performance concerns to management.

- Inspect harvesting areas, crop handling areas, workstations, tools, equipment, bins, carts, trays, and related work areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, safety, and operational readiness.

- Operate farm machinery, equipment, tools, carts, and other equipment used in harvesting and crop handling activities when required.

- Support the basic care, inspection, and maintenance of farm machinery, equipment, and tools and report repair or maintenance requirements to the appropriate department.

- Assist with tracking inventory of harvesting tools, crop handling supplies, sanitation materials, bins, trays, labels, personal protective equipment, and other agricultural supplies.

- Coordinate with cultivation, drying, crop handling, quality, and other operational teams to ensure the efficient movement of harvested crop material through each required production stage.

- Identify workflow issues, staffing constraints, production delays, equipment concerns, or other operational issues and elevate them to management as required.





- Support efficient labour allocation and ensure staffing is adjusted according to daily harvest volumes and production requirements.

- Promote teamwork, respectful communication, productivity, accountability, and a positive workplace culture.

- Perform general farm duties and assist directly with harvesting, crop handling, sanitation, or other agricultural activities when operationally required.

- Perform other supervisory and agricultural duties related to greenhouse crop production, harvesting, and crop handling as assigned.

Qualifications

- Secondary school graduation certificate or an equivalent combination of education and relevant agricultural experience.

- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of directly related experience in commercial cannabis cultivation, greenhouse crop production, harvesting operations, or a comparable agricultural environment.

- Previous experience supervising, leading, training, or coordinating agricultural or production employees is preferred.

- Practical knowledge of greenhouse harvesting practices, crop handling, sanitation, biosecurity, workplace safety, and agricultural production procedures.

- Demonstrated ability to organize daily work, assign tasks, monitor productivity, and coordinate employees in a fast-paced agricultural environment.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify crop quality, sanitation, safety, or operational concerns.

- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, and management.

- Ability to work in a physically demanding greenhouse and agricultural setting and remain actively involved on the production floor.

- English language proficiency is required.

- Spanish/Castilian language skills are considered an asset.
