MGM Power Systems Inc. is rapidly expanding throughout Northwest BC, providing generator rentals, sales, service, and maintenance for industrial, commercial, and remote operations.

We are an authorized Rehlko Power Systems dealer (formerly Kohler Power Systems), giving our technicians access to factory training, technical support, equipment, and parts.

Our goal is to become Northwest BC’s leading full-service generator company, providing everything from routine maintenance and repairs to load bank testing, fuel system maintenance, fuel polishing, rentals, and emergency power support.

As our business and rental fleet continue to grow, we are looking for another skilled technician who wants to grow with us.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Power Generation Technician, Heavy Duty Mechanic, Automotive Mechanic, or Electrician to join our team.

We are open to candidates ranging from a 3rd-year apprentice to an experienced Journeyperson, provided they have strong mechanical or electrical troubleshooting abilities and an interest in power generation.

Generator experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.

You will work on equipment ranging from small portable and mobile rental generators to large industrial standby and prime-power systems exceeding 2 MW.

The position includes both shop and field work, supporting customers throughout Northwest BC.

This role offers extensive on-the-job training along with access to Rehlko dealer-level online and in-person factory training throughout the United States.

Key Responsibilities

- Diagnose, repair, and service diesel, natural gas, and propane generators from approximately 7 kW to 2 MW+
- Perform preventative maintenance, annual services, inspections, and load bank testing
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems
- Diagnose alternators, AVRs,



engine controls, generator controllers, starting systems, and fuel systems
- Perform field service throughout Terrace, Kitimat, Prince Rupert, and surrounding areas
- Support generators operating at remote industrial and mining locations
- Maintain accurate service records and equipment documentation
- Assist with CSA C282 testing and maintenance of emergency power systems
- Work with our team to continually improve service procedures and customer support
- Participate in Rehlko dealer training and ongoing technical development

Qualifications We are interested in candidates with backgrounds including:

- Heavy Duty Equipment Technician – 3rd year apprentice through Journeyperson
- Journeyperson Electrician
- Power Generation Technician
- Automotive Service Technician
- Generator technician or equivalent industry experience

Preferred skills and experience:

- Diesel engine diagnostics and repair
- Natural gas and propane engines
- Electrical troubleshooting
- Generator and alternator systems
- Engine and generator control systems
- Experience with industrial or mobile equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot problems independently in the field

Generator-specific experience is an asset but not required for the right candidate with strong mechanical or electrical abilities. Applicants must have a valid Class 5 driver’s licence and be comfortable working at remote locations when required.
