Job Summary The Sunderland Point Heritage & Eco-Tourism Trust is dedicated to celebrating local history, preservation, and sustainable tourism. We are looking for an energetic, community-minded, and welcoming Host / Hostess to be the face of our trust at our central Red Deer office. This position is a fully on-site role operating directly within our office and visitor information hub.

It is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about hospitality, eco-friendly initiatives, and heritage storytelling.

Responsibilities

- Visitor & Guest Relations: Act as the primary point of contact; warmly greet visitors, delegates, and community partners arriving at the center.
- Inquiry Management: Answer phone calls and respond to email inquiries regarding our eco-tourism projects, community programs, and local heritage sites.
- Office & Space Hosting: Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting atmosphere in the front reception and exhibition areas; ensure informational brochures and promotional items are always well-stocked.
- Scheduling Support: Coordinate and manage bookings for guided heritage walks, eco-tours, and meeting room usage.
- Administrative Assistance: Provide basic clerical support to the trust directors, including sorting mail, data entry,



and processing small merchandise sales or donations.tlists during busy periods, communicating wait times clearly and positively to guests

Requirements

- Experience: 1+ years of experience in hospitality (restaurant hosting, hotel front desk) or a customer-facing reception/office role.
- Location: Ability to reliably commute to 4909 50 Street, Red Deer, AB daily.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills in English. A warm, helpful, and hospitable presence is essential.
- Values Alignment: A genuine interest in environmental sustainability, eco-tourism, or local cultural heritage is highly valued.
- Organization: Strong time management skills, reliability, and the ability to work independently in a fixed-hour environment.
