We are seeking a knowledgeable, engaging, and safety-first Certified C.O.R.E. Instructor to lead Conservation and Outdoor Recreation Education courses for aspiring hunters and outdoor enthusiasts across British Columbia.

In this role, you will deliver BC Wildlife Federation (BCWF) curriculum in a classroom and practical setting, preparing students to pass their written and practical firearms handling examinations and earn their Fish & Wildlife ID (FWID) hunter qualification.

Responsibilities

- Instruction: Deliver comprehensive, engaging instruction covering all core modules of the BC C.O.R.E. program, including conservation principles, wildlife management, ethics, outdoor survival, first aid, and firearm safety.
- Examination & Evaluation: Administer and evaluate BCWF written and practical firearms handling exams strictly adhering to provincial testing standards and integrity guidelines.
- Safety & Handling: Oversee hands-on mock firearm handling sessions, ensuring a controlled, zero-risk learning environment at all times using deactivated or non-firing training firearms.
- Course Administration: Manage student sign-ins, verify prerequisites, submit completed test documents/course reports accurately to the BCWF within required deadlines, and issue graduation paperwork.
- Student Engagement: Create an approachable,



inclusive learning environment that accommodates students of all skill and comfort levels—from complete novices to experienced outdoor enthusiasts.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Certification (Mandatory): Currently designated as an active, certified C.O.R.E. Examiner / Instructor in good standing with the British Columbia Wildlife Federation (BCWF).
- Licensing: Valid Canadian Firearms Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL).
- Experience: Background in hunting, wildlife conservation, outdoor guiding, or related outdoor education fields. Prior classroom or workshop teaching experience preferred.
- Communication Skills: Clear, professional verbal communication with the ability to translate technical safety rules and wildlife regulations into easy-to-understand concepts.
- Reliability: Punctual, organized, and capable of managing course materials and administrative grading independently.
- Background Check: Ability to provide a clean Criminal Record Check / Vulnerable Sector Check upon request.

Assets / Preferred
- Certified Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC / CRFSC) Instructor designation is a major asset.
- Valid Standard First Aid / Wilderness First Aid certification.
- Flexible availability on weekends (Saturdays/Sundays) and select weekday evenings.
