Hydraulic Hose Technician

We are seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Hydraulic Hose Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on position responsible for building hydraulic hose assemblies accurately, safely and efficiently.

The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, be comfortable working with tools and equipment, and be able to maintain productivity in a busy warehouse environment. Reliability, punctuality and safe work practices are essential to this position.

Work Setting

This position is performed primarily in an active warehouse and hose-assembly environment. Employes should be comfortable working around industrial equipment, hydraulic hose and fittings, rubber and petroleum-based product odours, noise, dust and normal warehouse temperature fluctuations.

Responsibilities

- Identify hydraulic hose, fittings and components required to build replacement hose assemblies.
- Measure, cut, clean, assemble and crimp hydraulic hoses to the required specifications.
- Inspect completed hose assemblies for accuracy and quality.
- Pressure test hose assemblies when required.
- Safely operate hose saws, crimpers and other hose-building equipment.
- Accurately use calipers, tape measures and other measuring tools.
- Assist customers with identifying replacement hoses, fittings and related products.
- Read and accurately interpret measurements, part numbers and product information.
- Receive, pick and put away inventory as required.
- Identify and report inventory shortages or discrepancies.
- Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment when trained and authorized.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
- Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately.
- Follow established quality-control and safety procedures.
- Perform other hose-shop and warehouse duties as required.

Qualifications

- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.




- Must be fluent in spoken and written English and able to read and understand workplace instructions, safety information and product documentation.
- Good computer skills are required, including the ability to accurately enter and retrieve information using company software.
- Good math skills are required including basic arithmitic, fractions, decimals and accurate measurement in millimetres.
- Previous hydraulic hose assembly experience is an asset; training will be provided to the right candidate.
- Solid mechanical aptitude and ability to work confidently with tools and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to accurately use measuring tools, including calipers and tape measures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to safely lift and handle materials associated with the position.
- Clear and legible handwriting is required for completing work orders, recording measurements and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to consistently follow company policies and safety procedures.

Attendance & Workplace Expectations Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality are essential requirements of this position. Employees are expected to arrive on time and be ready to work at the start of their scheduled shift.

This is a physically demanding, hands-on position. Employees must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job throughout the workday, including:
- Frequently standing, walking, bending, reaching, crouching and kneeling.
- Lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Frequent pushing, pulling, carrying and handling of hoses, fittings, equipment and materials.
- Reaching at, above and below shoulder level.
- Working at floor level and regularly moving between standing, crouching and kneeling positions.
- Performing repetitive hand and arm movements associated with cutting, assembling and crimping hoses.
- Safely handling bulky or awkward materials.
- Remaining on your feet for extended periods.
- Operating a forklift (training is provided)
- Employees are responsible for providing their own CSA-approved protective safety footwear (steel-or composite-toe) and must wear it while working.

Compensation Probationary wage: $22.00 per hour.

Employees who successfully complete the probationary period and are retained will receive a wage increase upon completion of probation. Future wage increases are based on demonstrated competency and performance.

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
