Armstrong Milling Co. Ltd. is seeking a skilled and dependable Industrial Millwright to join our growing Maintenance team in Hagersville, Ontario. From our Hagersville, Ontario facility, we serve the Canadian wild bird seed market with our own branded products, as well as premium custom-blended and packaged caged animal and bird seed products.

The Opportunity Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Industrial Millwright will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, installing, and improving plant equipment and facility assets.



You will help keep operations safe, reliable, productive, and compliant with food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.

This role is ideal for an experienced industrial maintenance professional who can troubleshoot independently, respond effectively to equipment issues, and contribute practical solutions to preventative maintenance and improvement initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

- Repair or replace defective equipment and ensure it is safe for employees to operate
- Troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures and provide practical maintenance solutions
- Construct, install, adjust, and repair equipment, buildings, and other physical assets as assigned
- Complete scheduled preventative maintenance activities
- Identify and correct unsafe equipment or hazardous conditions before they can result in injury
- Support maintenance planning and participate in the execution of maintenance projects
- Assist with maintaining equipment reliability, plant safety, and production continuity
- Participate in Workplace Health and Safety Committee activities related to maintenance safety, when required
- Report food safety, quality, equipment, and maintenance concerns to personnel authorized to take corrective action
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with the development and improvement of preventative maintenance programs
- Record important shift details and parts request through Maintain X
- Participate actively in continuous-improvement activities
- Communicate important status updates to mamangers and other departartments
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, safety, efficiency, and reliability
- Report unsafe equipment or working conditions to the appropriate authority or Workplace Health and Safety Committee
- Complete other maintenance-related duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Coordinator

What You Bring
- Valid Industrial Millwright Red Seal / 433A Certificate of Qualification
- 3 - 5 years experience
- Proven industrial maintenance,



troubleshooting, repair, and installation experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to diagnose equipment issues effectively
- Experience performing preventative maintenance in a manufacturing, food-processing, agricultural, or similar production environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a maintenance and operations team
- Competence or training with electrical equipment is an asset
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to communicate maintenance concerns, repair requirements, and improvement ideas clearly
- Willingness and ability to obtain or maintain forklift and aerial-equipment operating qualifications
- Your own basic repair tools, including items such as a toolbox or chest, wrenches, socket set, screwdrivers, hammer, and related hand tools

Working Conditions This is a physically demanding role in an active manufacturing workplace. The successful candidate must be comfortable with:
- Rotating day and afternoon shifts, with flexibility to support nights if operationally required
- Working indoors and outdoors in varying and sometimes inclement weather conditions
- Working at extreme heights, in confined spaces, and in dusty conditions
- Operating forklifts and aerial equipment after appropriate training
- A plant environment containing tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, and other allergens
- Physical work including standing, walking, lifting, bending, climbing, and hands-on equipment repair
