Seeking an Infant Toddler Early Childhood Educator

Wild Wapiti Playschool Society is a non-profit group child care centre for children aged 1-5 years old based in downtown Fernie, BC. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our talented team in our Infant Toddler classroom.

Inspired by our little town and big mountains we nurture a spirit of play, collaboration, kindness, independence and sustainability in each child. Responsibilities will include

- Supervising and engaging children during daily routines, indoor and outdoor play, meals, transitions, and learning activities.
- Supporting the delivery of inclusive, play based programming that promotes children's physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language development.
- Preparing and implementing developmentally appropriate activities and learning experiences.
- Building positive and respectful relationships with children and families.
- Supporting the inclusion and meaningful participation of all children, including children with diverse abilities and additional support needs.
- Assisting with individualized support strategies developed in collaboration with families and community professionals.
- Maintaining a safe, healthy, and welcoming learning environment in accordance with licensing requirements and centre policies.
- Contributing to observation, communication, and documentation practices that support children's wellbeing and development.
- Participating in team meetings,



professional development opportunities, and collaborative planning activities.

Who you are:

- You’re an enthusiastic, creative and patient educator looking for a full time or part time position.
- You value curious play, community, kindness, independence and sustainability
- You’re passionate about for inspiring young children and helping them learn and grow
- You’re knowledgeable in pedagogies such as child-led play-based learning, risky play, and/or environmental education, or you are willing to learn.
- You’re a brilliant communicator, with adults and children alike.
- You have your BC ECE IT or in the process of obtaining it
- Ideally, your CPR and First Aid Certification are up to date

How we value our team:

- $29.50-$31.50/hr plus $3/hr government/CBTwage enhancement, if eligible and approved, plus annual minimum 2% wage increases
- 6% vacation - equivalent to 3 weeks annually
