Position Description

Vista Virtual School requires an Interim Full Time (1.0 FTE) Math Teacher. Duties are to commence as soon as possible and will end June 29, 2027.

Note: This is not a telecommuting position. The location of this assignment will be in a designated workspace within a Pembina Hills Community School or at the Vista Virtual Calgary office.

Vista Virtual School is an accredited public elementary, junior high and senior high school (including adult education and upgrading) that serves residents of Alberta. Qualifications

- Must hold a valid Alberta teaching certificate
- Proficiency in the use of educational technology
- Understanding and application of assessment for learning as demonstrated by individualized instruction

The Successful Candidate

- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Alberta Curriculum
- Ability and willingness to travel and work with students, and parents throughout Alberta
- Ability to teach to and address a wide range of student needs in a distance education environment
- Be a strong team member but able to work independently
- Be committed to a learner-centered philosophy
- Maintain close contact with students, parents, and other stakeholders
- Monitor guide and support students in their progress




- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of Moodle
- Preference will be given to individuals with experience in a distance learning environment
