We provide owner's representatives, engineering, and drafting services to support mining companies in Canada by providing technical solutions for their operations and capital construction projects. Our multidisciplinary teams of qualified professionals have successfully overseen billions of dollars worth of projects in mining.

As an Electrical Designer, you should be comfortable working with a mining group, have a strong desire to learn, and good problem solving and communication skills. As Mainstay is a growing company, the applicant should be willing to help define and adapt the role to fit with their needs and those of the company.

Working as a team with an Electrical Engineer, you will:

- Provide support for the design of electrical and I&C; systems for a wide variety of projects.
- Attend site visits and meetings to collect data and coordinate projects as necessary.
- Apply knowledge of codes and standards
- Design electrical systems that include, but are not limited to: power distribution, grounding, lighting, fire and life safety, controls and instrumentation, data and communication
- Create documentation packages that include, but are not limited to:
- single lines and riser diagrams
- schematics, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, interconnection drawings, and details
- load, motor, cable, and other equipment schedules
- panel layouts, cable tray layouts
- power, lighting, life safety and auxiliary system device layouts
- Calculate electrical loads, required equipment ratings, conductor sizes, tray and conduit fill, voltage drop,



lighting levels
- Develop electrical drafting/modelling standards
- Review documentation for quality assurance, and prepare packages for issue
- Conduct contract administration and change process duties
- Other duties and activities as required

Capabilities:
- General knowledge of the processing systems in an industrial environment with deep knowledge of the typical electrical systems. Mining and underground experience is an asset
- Knowledge of the current edition of the Canadian Electrical Code
- Expertise using drafting and modelling software (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, etc.)
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Understanding of industry standards (ISA, NEMA, CSA, etc.)
- Aptitude in low, medium, and high voltage system design
- Ability to work and collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team
- Possess excellent organizational and time management skills

Qualifications:

- Proficient and experienced with Inventor, AutoCAD, and Plant 3D
- Expertise in problem analysis, problem-solving and design thinking
- Effective technical communication skills, both oral and written
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship at time of application

Education and Experience

- Diploma or certificate in electrical engineering technology and/or CAD/CAM
- 5-10 years of experience in related fields
- Preference given to applicants who have piping experience are proficient in AutoCAD Plant3D
- Mining and underground experience is considered an asset

Job Types: Full time, Permanent Pay: $72,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
