Intermediate – Senior Accountant

Are you eager to make an impact in accounting and finance by driving meaningful change in a dynamic environment? We’re hiring an Intermediate- Senior Accountant for our Calgary Head Office.

Integrated Geomatics Inc. is a growing Western Canadian geomatics, environmental, engineering, GIS, and regulatory services company supporting clients across the energy and infrastructure sectors.

You will assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and be a key member of the team, providing detailed analysis of key business drivers. Working closely with the CFO, you will collaborate cross-functionally to improve processes and provide ad-hoc financial analysis to support decision-making.

What You Will Be Doing

- Full cycle accounting including month end and year end close processes, journal entries, bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain balance sheet schedules
- Accounts receivable and accounts payable management
- Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries with meticulous attention to detail
- Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of financial information
- Support in the preparation of annual financial statements
- Collaborate cross-functionally to gather financial data, streamline month-end closing processes, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency
- Support and assist junior accounting staff with daily tasks and duties
- Review and analysis of payroll
- Ensure standard accounting policies, procedures and controls are consistently and accurately applied
- Understanding internal controls, their effectiveness and continued implementation of them

What We Would Like From You

- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting




- A CPA designation or active progression toward a CPA designation an asset but not required
- 5+ years hands-on experience in an accounting-focused role
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; intermediate Excel skills are required, with advanced skills considered an asset
- Experience supporting Canadian private companies and familiarity of ASPE (Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises) is considered an asset
- Experience working with Canadian accounting standards, payroll regulations, and corporate reporting requirements is strongly preferred
- Strong foundation in accounting principles
- Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- A continuous-improvement mindset, with an interest in improving processes and leveraging automation to increase efficiency and reduce errors
- Strong ownership, accountability, and proactive problem-solving skills
- Robust desire to learn and grow in the role
- Sound judgment and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and make informed decisions
- Excellent communication and ability to foster and develop relationships and trust
- Collaborative mindset with the confidence to work with colleagues across the organization

Location and other key details:

- This is a full-time permanent position based out of our Calgary Corporate Office
- The hours of work will be Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week with occasional additional hours as required

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
