Job Responsibilities As a Carpenter with Primis Contracting, you will play a key role in supporting commercial and industrial construction projects, including precast panel erection and structural construction activities. Responsibilities include:

- Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, specifications, and site plans
- Assisting with layout, site preparation, and structural construction activities
- Supporting precast concrete panel erection operations and related site work
- Installing bracing, blocking, embeds, and other structural carpentry components
- Operating hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and efficiently
- Assisting with concrete placement, finishing, and related construction activities as required




- Working independently to complete assigned tasks while maintaining project schedules and quality standards
- Providing guidance and mentorship to apprentices and less experienced crew members as required
- Taking initiative in identifying and resolving site challenges while maintaining safe work practices
- Coordinating with site supervisors, crane operators, subcontractors, and project teams
- Ensuring compliance with project specifications, applicable building standards, and safety regulations
- Maintaining organized, clean, and safe work areas
- Participating in daily safety meetings, hazard assessments, and site inspections
- Identifying and reporting safety concerns, incidents, or hazards to supervisors
- Accurately recording and maintaining relevant paperwork and site documentation
- Performing physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, and moving materials
- Completing other duties as assigned by the Site Superintendent, Project Manager, or Construction Manager

Qualifications & Requirements We are seeking a professional who brings the following experience and qualifications:

- Journeyman Carpenter certification
- Minimum 3 years of progressive construction experience
- Experience in commercial or industrial construction environments is preferred
- Experience with precast panel erection, structural construction, or concrete construction is considered an asset
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and construction documents
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and safe work practices
- Proven ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds




- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and a willingness to mentor others is considered an asset
- Robust attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- CSTS, WHMIS, First Aid, Fall Protection, Elevated Work Platform, and Telehandler certifications are considered assets

Additional Details

- Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work as required
- Overtime may be required based on project schedules
- Travel may be required to multiple project sites throughout the Edmonton area
